Join local resident Ann Sandri and her colleague Elizabeth Clarke as they discuss their new book Images of America: The Poughkeepsie Regatta 1891-1950. The Regatta pitted major university crews against each other for supremacy on the Hudson and was a sporting event equivalent to today’s Super Bowl or World Series. This event had a huge impact on the lives of those in Poughkeepsie and Highland, but also the surrounding area for over 50 years. The Regatta continued the tradition of rowing on the Hudson and set the stage for the rowing that continues today. Registration is required. Click here to register.
