On Friday, November 13th, We are planning to have another Basket Social in the Parish Hall.
Last year our Social was a HUGE success and the efforts of all who worked so hard under the direction of our Social Committee Chairwoman, Jenn DeQuarto, not only provided an enjoyable evening for many but also raised a large sum on money which was put into our building repair fund.
The Baskets, all Themed with a minimum of $10, were made by Jenn and her crew or donated by parish families. Please let her know if you will be donating one this year.
Some examples from last year were “Lotto Baskets” filled with an assortment of scratch off tickets, “Laundry Baskets” with detergents, fabric softeners, etc., a “Man Basket” that included a razor, shaving cream, etc., “Dog Basket” that included a dog’s eating bowl, doggie toys, and a bed, Christmas and Thanksgiving Baskets with related holiday items. What imaginations people used !!
Perhaps a couple of families would like to get together to see what they can come up with. Sounds like fun and it would be of great help to your church.
Jenn is also in need of large “Chinese soup” or small coffee containers, any donations of gift certificates from local businesses, blue, red, and/or yellow table cloths (mostly blue).
If you cannot donate a basket, perhaps you may have a new and unused item that can be used to make up a basket – ex. cake mixes, frostings, bake dishes, gift cards.
