Thank you for Volunteering!

Today was the last day of phase one of #ProjectResilience I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has donated their time to help our town. I got involved with this project because a friend of mine got laid off as a result of this virus. Today we delivered 280 meals, 90 bags of groceries, and 90 bags of bread, as well as baked goods from Mici Simonofsky. According to an all around great guy and volunteer, Jack Bellingham, one of us delivered our 5,000th meal today!! Now THAT is fantastic! When the people of Marlboro come together, we do amazing things! Watching this community come together as a kid is the reason I teach Civics. I’m proud of everyone who has helped and donated. I’m proud of our local businesses who have been feeding the people of Marlboro. I’m proud of the fact that we have been strong in one of the most challenging times in modern American history. #MarlboroStrong There are still donations coming in to #MiltonCares. More groceries will be delivered through our initiative though the First Presbyterian Church of Milton. Phase one is over, but the stores aren’t open yet, and people are still waiting to go back to work, which means we need to keep going. Groceries will be delivered on Saturdays now through Project Resilience and the Rondout Valley Food Pantry.
